SEQUENCES Day 10 Production
THE UNTOLD STORY OF FRANK EDGE JR (Day 10 Production)

DAY 10

The shoot was a slightly bigger shoot but with scheduling conflicts I could not get Beth to come in and shoot her part. So it was a two man crew for this. Keith and myself. Shot from 1:15 to 4:30pm. Some 3 hours for 4 scenes. This was the "Recording Room" set and scenes. writing the script I had no idea where this would be shot for a number of reasons but in the end decided to just clean out one of the rooms (the laundry room) from the abandoned house and do some set dressing. I had always written and drew up scripts or comics having to do with some sorta red lit control room and I finally got to do it. Great look and footage.

SCENE 6: Frank's Video Collection/Monitor Room
For the first time, we see what Frank's hobby is. Video tapes of sex, murder, suicide and other grisly things I pervert like Frank would collect over the years for endless hours of entertainment.

NOTE: From last summers would-be film that also dealt with a sorta control room looking set. I had collected electronics and hording them into my attic for the past year and a half. Lots of wires, vcrs, tvs, tape decks, ect. A day before this tiny space was stock piled with trash and forgotten things from this past owner. Took about an hour to toss everything out and make way for the set decoration. The place looks as tho a grenade went off but I do intend to get back in there and clean up the mess we made as well as the mess that was left. The set itself was fun putting together. Aside from the regular duties of filmmaking, I love set construction and most of all, set decorating.

SCENE 27/29/31: Liz Going Too Far
Frank's only escape from the world is interrupted, then destroyed as Liz needs money and with Frank not answering her from the other side of the door and only increasing the volume to his headset, she cuts the power and rips apart certain lines that make his little operation run from outside. This leads to Liz nailing the coffin on her own lid as Frank ends up killing her because of this little act for attention.

NOTE: The house was actually cooler than it was outside which was a big concern for today. Sunday being quite a hot day. But still had to take some mini breaks in between scenes so Keith could breathe some fresh air. He got a little lightheaded which is never okay. Gotta take care of your people!

AGAIN with all the electronic equipment working and running, we're probably lucky we didnt blow any fuses in this house since everything is running off of one long extension cord. The brighter side of things was having two battery power monitors which came in handy but had to be shut down after takes. In sum. Lots of juice but damn was it a sweet little playset.

SCENE 39: Can Not Concentrate
After Frank has dumped the remains of Liz's body into the drain tunnel. He finds it difficult to find any kind of entertainment or joy from what once made him so content. Ejecting tape after tape, nothing. These tapes have lost their meaning. Frank can not concentrate. Frustration.

NOTE: Prepare like 50 vhs tapes with these insane labels basically saying shit like "2/02/99 Suffocating Baby" and much more random labels. As a side note. Filming in such a confined space still sucked since you're limited to angles but the wide angle lens saved the day but even that isnt enough at times. In these cases, you gotta just stuff yourself into a corner or jump on top of something. Be uncomfortable. Be VERY uncomfortable. HOWEVER, you know it's worth the shot, so don't be a fucking bitch about it. Be dirty.

Keith did some excellent facial stuff again. I find myself doing more and more close ups on his mug than anyone I've ever shot before.

SCENE 32: Discovering The Damage/Repair The Damage
Two scenes in different timelines of the movie. 1. Frank storming out of the recording room and seeing the damage to his exterior cables and storming off after Liz. 2. Days later Frank restoring power to the room and mending the cut wires.

NOTE: Had to shoot around Beth not being there so it was odd filming the aftermath damage of something that hasn't even been done yet. Just had to guess how things would fly apart on the exterior of the recording room. More junk made to look like important pieces of equipment. Went off script and shot some stuff involving the main fuse box to the house. I shot the same exact scene for a would-be film starring me called STRANGE CRAVINGS which was the bastard child of my epic INTOLERANCE script. A lot of the same elements and ingredients gave birth to this film. So it wasn't ALL for nothing.
