SEQUENCES Day 11 Production
THE UNTOLD STORY OF FRANK EDGE JR (Day 11 Production)

DAY 11

Wet nasty ass fucking day. 1:30 - 5pm. There's something about shooting in the rain that makes everything move slower in every aspect. On location in this shit weather goes both ways. It was a great shoot but an uncomfortable shoot, great shots but difficult shots. It just depends on who you're working with and their tolerance level to miserable conditions. This shoot was Keith and Shannon. Shannon pretty much taking the worst of the shoot. Only 3 scenes but again, not the easiest to pull off.

Had to wrap the camera in a trash bag but that's ok sound wise since these are non-dialog scenes. Three locations but each with it's own problems, added with rain, making them more problematic in camera setups.

SCENE 83: Frank's New Job. Roadside Cleaning.
After Frank's physical and mental collapse. He is set up with a new job. Picking up trash along the highway. Along the way he finds a dead dog with it's gut's splattered out it's torso. This causes Frank to reflect on the women's he seen with their guts split fourth.

NOTE: The Highway. Loud which made directing more like a shouting match which evolved into hand gestures in order to communicate. Playing with guts and trash. Parking was a bitch.

SCENE 84: Something to Reflect about.
Frank finds himself back in a familiar place. A drain tunnel. Places like this used for disposing of bodies. More reflections are made on his life.

NOTE: Storm Tunnel. A different drain tunnel that comes in the form of giant concrete stairs going down into a box like pit where the tunnel lead-in is. Limited space. Water exploding off the surface. More risky in terms of the tripod being taken out from below and the camera takin a nose dive into the abyss. Just confined and slippery. Always wanted to shoot here.

SCENE 45: FlashBack or Dream? Another Murder.
Frank is having a day dream or a flash back of the past. Which ever it is, it's not nice. We had Frank chasing down a girl whose tied as the wrists with a pillow case over her head. Frank gives chase with a crowbar and eventually the girl is caught.

NOTE: The Field. Mud and ticks (which we later found on us). This field was hard to navigate and run in since this is what this scene was all about, running. Didn't help much since both Keith and Shannon are asthmatics. I also didn't know it would rain this weekend but through all the misery it made everything more raw and gave the scenes some tone and atmosphere.

So to Shannon who ran aimlessly, covered in mud, blood and soaked clothing through the mud repeated times, THEN to just lie in it. THEN for trashing her car with muddy junk and never yelling or complaining through all this. Mad props and credit. To Keith who always delivers and didn't drop dead from running or slipping or falling. Takes a lot to do what it is I needed them to do. so much thanks and praise.
